Druids Heath is one of two courses at the Druids Glen Resort, located in County Wicklow. The course dates to 2003 and was designed by Pat Ruddy.
It is an 18 hole championship course that is a mix of a heathland and parkland course as well as some links features thrown in too, making it a unique course to play. This par 71 course measures 7,434 yards from the tees, so is a long course.
It is a pleasant tree lined course with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, as it meanders through. The course has a nice layout and offers a good game of golf that will challenge all level of player. There is not a bad hole to found on this course, each of them presents a different challenge, many of the holes are very scenic. All of the par 3 holes are over water and there are some notably tight driving holes.
The course makes the most of of its surrounding, with the natural terrain providing many of the hazards. This undulating course is wonderfully maintained. It is:
- a rather hilly course,
- that features water,
- rock quarries,
- gorse and
- sand.
The large undulating greens are smooth and fast, the fairways are quite wide but do hold a lot of hazards, bunkering is tough, they are deep and a number are hidden, there are more than one hundred here.
