Spiddal Craft Village is located amongst the stunning Connemara countryside in County Galway. This Irish handcraft haven enjoys an enviable location adjacent to Spiddal Beach and has the most spectacular views looking out over Galway Bay, the Cliffs of Moher and Aran islands. It is a lovely place to come and browse around.
It is a distinguished centre in that it is home to ten of Ireland’s finest artists and crafts people who produce some stunning and delightful artisan products. The different studios house these talented and passionate artists who work here, their products are available to see and purchase here. Crafts include basket weaving, acrylic painting, stained glass, pottery, screen printing, mixed media, glass art, weaving, photography and Celtic jewellery. These artists draw inspiration and creativity from the surrounding landscape, and are happy to chat with visitors. Visitors will find a unique collection of well priced handcrafted quality products available and are sure to find that special souvenir or present. The range is varied so there is something to suit all budgets.
There is also a vintage shop selling clothes and an art gallery displaying some lovely works.
Visitors can also take part in basket making courses here, great fun and an excellent way to learn a new skill and also come away with a delightful hand-crafted basket that you can show off to family and friends.
The award winning Builin Blasta cafe is warm and inviting, they serve a fabulous range of tasty home-cooked snacks and light dishes as well as delicious home baked goods and desserts that will leave you wanting more. There is a range of artisan products for sale including, chutneys, salad dressings and chocolates, they are available to take away and enjoy at home.
Throughout the year they organise and run a number of events, festivals and camps aimed at all ages and various interests.
