Carton House O’Meara Course enjoys the backdrop of the magnificent Carton House on both the first and last holes. It is a Par 73 parkland golf course that measures 7,165 yards from the blue championship tees. It is a more intimate and interesting course for many compared to the Montgomerie Course.
The course was designed by Mark O’Meara and opened in 2002, he has created a gem of a course that is highly regarded and constantly ranks in the top courses of Ireland. The course has carefully used the mature woodland, the River Rye, verdant pastures and the undulating landscape, it is an idyllic landscape.
The course comprises of

- classically designed fairway bunkers and
- deep rough, they all await you during your round.

The 14th, 15th and 16th holes here are known as Amen Corner, here is where the natural terrain really comes to the fore with the sound of the gushing water, mature trees, birds overland, you get a sense of being really close to nature, they are truly stunning. It is a modern course that is both entertaining and challenging and will not disappoint and level of golfer. It is a course that both starts and ends strongly.
